Why Cassandra exists
The data showing cascading earth system failure is not hidden. It is published. It sits in journals that scientists in other disciplines never read. It lives in datasets that policymakers never see. It exists in reports that journalists summarize one crisis at a time without connecting them to the eight other crises happening simultaneously.
I spent months researching how these nine systems interact. I read the oceanography papers and the entomology papers and the hydrology papers and the permafrost papers. What I found is that the connections between them are more important than any single system. When the AMOC weakens, it does not just affect Europe. It affects the Indian monsoon, West African rainfall, Southern Ocean carbon absorption, and US East Coast sea levels. Those effects cascade into food systems, migration patterns, and economic stability.
No platform synthesizes this. Cassandra does.
The name
In Greek mythology, Cassandra was a priestess of Troy cursed by Apollo to see the future truthfully but never be believed. The climate data is our Cassandra. It tells us what is coming. The curse is that the people with the power to act do not believe it, or do not act on it, or do not see how the pieces connect.
This platform is named Cassandra not because the future is hopeless but because the data deserves to be heard. And understood. And synthesized into something that compels action.

Who built Cassandra
Cassandra is built by Mary Leriche, founder of Lonia AI. I am not a climate scientist. I am a systems thinker who spent over a decade building software that connects what others keep separate. I built Pallas to connect accessibility failures across 130+ government websites. I built BillCheck to connect medical billing errors to patient rights. I built Cassandra because the nine systems that keep this planet stable are failing at the same time, and no one is connecting them into a single picture.
The research behind Cassandra includes a 10-volume synthesis of cascading earth systems, 60,000 words of AMOC restoration research with 22 novel cross-disciplinary syntheses, and 58,000 words of carbon reversal research with 35 novel syntheses. That research is the foundation this platform is built on.
